Wild summer

Hello! I have been soooo busy this summer but found some time to have fun. I am working on a special ed credential and I will have my intern credential by the end of next week (7 weeks of classes, every night 4 to 9pm!). I will be teaching at the school where I've been working as the office person. I've been working part time just this summer at LindaMood-Bell Learning Center in Sacto. Very good program, helps people re-learn how to read and visualize and comprehend....really cool stuff. I will continue to teach and go to classes for 3 years to complete my cred. and be legitimate! I'll only have to go to classes 4 times a month then.
The boys have started school and Sam is staying here again to save some money. We are all well and busy and hot (101 today!)Love you lots and miss you!!! Mel
PS, went sailing on Lake Tahoe last Sat! wooo hooo!!!

Odessa fun

These bodies should be illegal--on both sides of the coin!
We took a little time out before Zone Conference in Odessa to enjoy the Black Sea.

Just a few more I promise

Remember these guys? Paul Lawson and Leslie (Dickson) Giboney. They were so great to be there to help.

More wedding

Wedding Fun

That was such a great day! Thanks to everyone who helped so much. Cute family, I'd say. I'm still waiting for more pictures to arrive, but here's some of them.

His name is finally official!

These are the dear men who stood in the circle and gave my little man a name - Jonah Benson Kepsel.
Caleb and his Dad, Bill (do you see the similarity?)
Tess and the girls, and notice that Emmy is not attacking Lainey! That's progress!

Post #510! Can you believe that?!

Since 9 of the last 10 posts were from the Christensen family, we decided that we needed to stop monopolizing the family blog and have created a blog for ourselves. Now we can degrade eachother without involving the whole family:) I'm sure you will still see us in overwhelming numbers here, but if you just can't get enough, feel free to visit us on Howdy-ba-doosh-kee!

Jonah's first camping trip!

Here is our peaceful camp site.

We took off for an over nighter to the Uintah's. It was nice. There where lots of bugs. Jonah did great. Camille and Hanna came. Emmy is way too funny. I was somewhat grumpy and unmotivated to do anything. So we just basically sat around camp. Sorry Hanna and Camille if you were bored.

Us on my piece of 4Runner. It's a trusty old rust bucket. That is why it's fun to drive. Ask Jayne.

Emmy being Emmy. I think she has changed the whole family's vocabulary to match hers.

Camille and I figured this was better than Smore's. We were right. I am not sure what else to say about this.
This picture really just speaks for itself.
So does this one....
Aren't they all just so great?
So that's that. It was fun. Everyone that wants to go next time just say so. When we go again we'll let you know.

The reason people ask if my child is half-hispanic.

Looking at our matching bare feet this morning, Emmy said "Mommy! The same toes! No... brown toes and white toes."

Happy Fourth

I walked through a county courthouse square.
On a park bench an old man was sitting there.
I said, “Your old courthouse is kind of run down.”
He said, “It’ll do for our little town.”
I said, “Your old flag pole is leaned a little bit,
and that’s a ragged old flag hanging on it”
He said, “Have a seat.” And I sat down.
“Is this the first time you’ve been to our little town?”
I said, “I think it is” He said, “I don’t like to brag,
but we’re kind of proud of that ragged old flag.
“You see, we got a little hole in that flag there
when Washington took it across the Delaware
and it powder burned the night Francis Scott Key
sat up watching it, writing “Oh Say Can you See.”
It got a little rip in New Orleans
with Packingham and Jackson pulling at its seams.
And it almost fell at the Alamo
beside the Texas flag, she waved on though.
It got cut with a sword at ChancellorsVille
and it cut again at Shiloh Hill.
There was Robert E. Lee, Beauregard and Bragg.
The south wind blew hard on that ragged old flag.
On Flanders field in World War One,
She got a big hole from a Bertha Gun.
She turned blood red in World War Two,
She hung limp and low by the time it was through.
She was in Korea and Viet Nam.
She went where she was sent by her Uncle Sam;
she waved from our ships upon the briny foam.
And now they’ve about quit waving her at home.
In her own good land she’s been abused,
she’s burned, dishonored, denied, and refused.
And now the Government for which she stands
is scandalized through out our land.
She’s getting threadbare and she’s wearing thin,
but she’s in good shape for the shape she's in.
Cause she’s been through the fire before,
and I believe she can take a whole lot more.
So we raise here up every morning bring her down slow every night.
We don’t let her touch the ground and we fold her up right
On second thought, I do like to brag.
Cause I'm Mighty Proud Of That Ragged Old Flag.

Its a little FISHY

Hey everyone. I had another fishing tournament and it was a fun one. I went out on the boat and after a few minutes BOOM caught one. then throughout the day i caught like 10 but only 4 of them were over 12 inches. One of them was 11 and 3/4 inches and if it was a little more i would have placed a lot better. But i had a blast. The guy said i took fourth over all three tournaments but the website says third. so i dont know what i got. My next tournament is on July 19 at pineveiw by grandma and grandpas. so i will be able to pre-fish it ya hoo. And when I get the pictures of some of my fish i will put them on. hope to see you this week at grandma and grandpas for the fourth of july.

Canoe Seats and The Midnight Moon.

First of all I would like all of you to know that when I write a book, with Grammer-ma as editor of course, "Canoe Seats and The Midnight Moon" will be the title. SO to start this post I would like to say the I have new seats in my canoe. Now you may ask yourself; "Self; how did someone as clever and smart and overly good looking as Caleb Kepsel break the seats out of his canoe?" Then a narrators voice would come out of the heavens to tell a Harrowing story of terrible woes and horrific tragedy that ends with a dragon and a hero and a warlord and a good book and a vista that is more beatiful that the imagination can comprehend and a time out. But thats a story for another time. At least the canoe will see the water again, The wide open confines of the magical rivers, rapids, smooth currents and paddles glistening as they splash the unsuspecting oarman (oar woman) in the front seat. (Pun intended). Really I figure everyone likes pictures and I like to take them so I put too and two to-gether and vvwwalla. Clever eh. Here are some Pictures.

These two where taken at 11pm on friday.

These two are just loverly little star fish. Hungry too.

So as this post is coming together, Emmy is being a great help. Really she is. I tell jayne she is missing out on all of the Emmy and I bonding, Not noticing that she is feeding Jonah. So not to miss out she quips back, "Caleb you can't get more bonded than Jonah and I." True story.

Animated Stereograms

Hopefully nobody has a seizure when looking at these, but I thought they were really neat. A guy took old stereogram photos and combined them into these animated pictures, so you get the same 3D effect; just a jerkier version.

Happy Father's Day!!!!

To my father, my brothers and brothers-in-law,
You are all the most wonderful fathers in the world. I love you so much and thank you for being the greatest! Love, Melanie
Hi everyone. We are very excited to announce that Emmy's monkey Eee-Eee is expecting. We are very excited about this new addition to our family and will keep you updated as time goes on! Don't think too hard about it, it's actually kind if creepy....

......On a happier note.... I would like an update on the Austin Bass Fishing Competitions, I heard he caught some big fish. Or are they just fish stories? ( If you laughed at that pun I am very very sorry.)
Yours truly,
Caleb

Happy Birthday, Slamiejade!

From Gr/Gr.....(using Kepsel's sign-in info....when am I going to figure this out so we can become independent from Kepsels? and sign in on our own?) Anyway, Jamos, ... be careful out there on the Great Salt Lake Beach (on the old couch) tonight.
No worries, you are such a responsible and wonderful 17-year old. Seventeen, yikes!
