On the Ring Road

Here's another one from Morgy, although not quite as exciting. But we thought you might like to see how it is on the roads a little bit. It's usually pretty slow going, and a little hazardous, but we're getting used to it.

Just more rooms to see.

Mission Home tour part 1

This is one of three short clips showing the mission home/apartment where we live in Kyiv. We thought we should get this posted, since we'll be moving out to another place before too long.

Tuesday Tell All

We could do something like "what are you most thankful for" since it is Thanksgiving and all, but that might get kinda mushy. Instead, let's do:
What is your favorite Grumpa Joke?!

A Lake Powell

This is our wonderful trip to Lake Powell Utah. This is overlooking our camp. It's nice here.
Jayne says I don't give enough emotion and info so... For the picture above, this is Rainbow Bridge. For the life of me I can't figure out why they call it that but they do. As you can see it's a rock, not an optical and meteorlogical phenomenon that causes a spectrem of light to appear in the sky when the sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. It's 275 ft span was carved by Mormon pioneers who where lost and forced into manual labor by hoodlums and that was sad. It is 290 ft tall and wonderful. The Indians used it as a sacred religious sight. Which indians they are not sure but its fun to think about. I would like to note that it is not an arch. Arches do not have to be formed by water running under them; a Bridge (such as the one above) does. Some years when Lake Powell is full you can boat up to the bridge.

This is why Hanna is in my "Hot Club"

It's Tuesday again! Oh, well.... wednesday......

Okay so I'm a little late. Hope no one was devastated.

Welcome everyone to Tuesday Tell All!

We started this over on our rediculous Christensen blog, and it's been really neat; so we thought we'd try it over here too.
On Tuesdays I (or anyone) will post a question, and EVERYONE answers. It gets really funny sometimes, and it's a great way to learn things about eachother that we didn't know before. That might be scary. Lets try it! And ANYONE can post a question. Every tuesday. Get ready to answer. Everyone has something to say!

TODAY'S TOPIC:
Let's talk about Fall time. Everyone loves fall! Or do you? What's your favorite thing about it?

A Note from Lillian

To my cousins: I love you. I wish you can come here. I super duper luper love you! And all of the girls are so beautiful and all the boys are handsome too (no offense). And cool boys are awesome! Sydnie, this is for you: I hope you will come here again soon and then we can play with my Barbies and play with my toys and play hide and seek. We would have a fun time. Are you gonna come to my house soon, please? Pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top? And Jessie and Nick, this is for you: Please don't fight over me ever again, like, because you say, "Lily likes me the best!" "No, Lily likes me the best!" I don't like it when you say that, so please don't do that ever again. Coleman, did you know that we went to the Ocean Institute today? We saw fishies and catfish, and big giant lobsters! WE got to touch stingrays and we got to touch starfish. And I won a Memo sticker that I might send it in the mail to you. And if you like sparkles, you'll like it. If you want to come to our house someday, then we might take you to the Ocean Institute. And Coleman, did you know that we got to be in the big globe, but it looks like you're under water. So you go under this desk and there's this globe that you go in and it looks like you're under water. So I might get another stuffed animal that's a fish for you, kay? Who knows? Kari, I love you so much and if we go to Utah again and we come to your house, if it's OK, can we have a sleepover for 3 days if it's OK with my mom and dad? It would be so fun. Paul, I love you too, so please don't get jealous. You are awesome! And you are cool! And if I come to your house and you have cotton candy, can you please give it to me? Lainey: I love you so much. I really with you were my baby sister. Too bad, though. And Lainey, I wish you can come to my-y-y-y-y house. I wish I could teach you how to walk. And I wish you talked. But Tess, can you please keep this until Lainey is 2? She might learn how walk and talk. And then she would know what I said to her. Chuck, I wish you were funnier because you are so funny, I wish you were funnier. You crack me up all the time. And when you pick me up, you make me laugh, it's so fun. Tank, can you please stop being mean to me? Because you always scare me every time. Please, stop scaring me. Grandma Nette, I love you so much, so please can you please come to my house. But you know where the hotel is when we always go to Utah and have a sleepover there? Well that place just flooded, so we can't go anymore. So Dad has to come with us every time now. And I'm serious. Grandpa, did you know how I dance so good? I dance so good because I dance with the beat. I figured that out from the new Barbie movie, but it's not on TV anymore. If you're here again, then I might even teach you how to do my name in cursive. I know how to do that, I'm serious! Emmy, it's so fun when I get to play with you, but when you watch a movie with me, you always don't want to watch it anymore, so I guess we should turn off the TV! But if you don't want to, then we don't have to turn it off. I love you sooooooooooooooooooooo much. OK, I'm gonna go to a girl party tonight, and it's for all the first grade girls in our ward, so I gotta go. Bye! I love you guys! All the girls are cute, just to remind you, and all the boys are cool, just to remind you! And I love you! You're the best cousins in the whole wide world. I love you! THE END.

Congratulations, Camille!

Gr/Gr:
We want to congratulate Cami on her biking achievement Saturday on the new
Legacy Highway (between Ogden and Salt Lake).
You received First Place for something?
And we heard that C.J. did pretty fine also!
Unfortunately, we don't have the details. I was informed of it in Relief Society
yesterday. So, Cami, please fill us in (now that everyone's curious).

Also unfortunately, I thought I had this "google account" thing all figured out,
but still have to enter this blog with Jayne's Username and Password. Help!
It's just not fun to type in "IloveCaleb" all the time. However, we do love him.

Adventures of a 2 year olds Mother

There we were, enjoying a lovely little crafty project on the livingroom floor, when Emmy begs to try the scissors. Being the protective Mother that I am I had never let her use scissors before, but I decided that since they were extraordinarily dull and she's a big girl I would let her have a go. I gave her a piece of scrap paper and she joyfully went to work hacking away at it. Kept her busy for a good long while! Until the fateful moment when I bent over towards her to grab something. Up went her precious little hands and SNIP WENT MY HAIR! Yes you read correctly. Emmy gave her Mother a haircut. Don't kids usually cut their own hair? Would you like a visual? It's scarey. Okay you asked for it:
And that's not half of it. I am serious, it was bad. My family was calling me Alfalfa for crying out loud. Hmmm. Well now what do I do? I call every salon in this town looking for someone who will do an emergency hair cut, that's what I do. *sigh* So I got an appointment with a great gal who came highly reccommended. At first the receptionist told me no way, she was totally booked until next week... then I told her my story and she laughed (what nerve) and went and asked the Gal and she said she'd take me on her lunch break. Prayer works, I am telling you. After all of that, I did end up living. My hair is short, but not as bad as I had thought. She was a good hair-blender. Let's have another visual:
Notice that I am smiling in this picture, and it's probably because I was laughing at the funny little turns that life takes. Among the million of other things that Emmy has taught me, she has now taught me that Hair is just Hair, and it grows. Plus it's so nice and cool...

The latest with the Medakovic's

Hello everyone! I haven't downloaded any recent pictures on my camera,so I will do that soon! : )
Recently I got to go to San Francisco with my super-cool mom. We paraded around the city together, eating great food and visiting the Museum of Modern Arts and another art museum! It was fun-just the two of us!! : )
Currently, my husband Danny is working a heavy load-ten hours a day, four days a week. Then, on weekends, he practices his Thai-kick boxing, and is constantly injuring himself! He never really complains about his injuries though. Tough guy I guess! He is so kind to thoroughly supportt me at this time, because I am back in college, with a full-time schedule! Yep, I'm crazy. I have decided to press on, and complete my major in music. It's a lot of work, but I kind of enjoy the challenge...
Anyway, we like living in a house and have a new cat. Other than that, I guess I don't have much to say! I love you all and hope everyone is well!

Wild summer

Hello! I have been soooo busy this summer but found some time to have fun. I am working on a special ed credential and I will have my intern credential by the end of next week (7 weeks of classes, every night 4 to 9pm!). I will be teaching at the school where I've been working as the office person. I've been working part time just this summer at LindaMood-Bell Learning Center in Sacto. Very good program, helps people re-learn how to read and visualize and comprehend....really cool stuff. I will continue to teach and go to classes for 3 years to complete my cred. and be legitimate! I'll only have to go to classes 4 times a month then.
The boys have started school and Sam is staying here again to save some money. We are all well and busy and hot (101 today!)Love you lots and miss you!!! Mel
PS, went sailing on Lake Tahoe last Sat! wooo hooo!!!

Odessa fun

These bodies should be illegal--on both sides of the coin!
We took a little time out before Zone Conference in Odessa to enjoy the Black Sea.

Just a few more I promise

Remember these guys? Paul Lawson and Leslie (Dickson) Giboney. They were so great to be there to help.

More wedding

Wedding Fun

That was such a great day! Thanks to everyone who helped so much. Cute family, I'd say. I'm still waiting for more pictures to arrive, but here's some of them.

His name is finally official!

These are the dear men who stood in the circle and gave my little man a name - Jonah Benson Kepsel.
Caleb and his Dad, Bill (do you see the similarity?)
Tess and the girls, and notice that Emmy is not attacking Lainey! That's progress!

Post #510! Can you believe that?!

Since 9 of the last 10 posts were from the Christensen family, we decided that we needed to stop monopolizing the family blog and have created a blog for ourselves. Now we can degrade eachother without involving the whole family:) I'm sure you will still see us in overwhelming numbers here, but if you just can't get enough, feel free to visit us on Howdy-ba-doosh-kee!

Jonah's first camping trip!

Here is our peaceful camp site.

We took off for an over nighter to the Uintah's. It was nice. There where lots of bugs. Jonah did great. Camille and Hanna came. Emmy is way too funny. I was somewhat grumpy and unmotivated to do anything. So we just basically sat around camp. Sorry Hanna and Camille if you were bored.

Us on my piece of 4Runner. It's a trusty old rust bucket. That is why it's fun to drive. Ask Jayne.

Emmy being Emmy. I think she has changed the whole family's vocabulary to match hers.

Camille and I figured this was better than Smore's. We were right. I am not sure what else to say about this.
This picture really just speaks for itself.
So does this one....
Aren't they all just so great?
So that's that. It was fun. Everyone that wants to go next time just say so. When we go again we'll let you know.

New pictures over at our blog! Mac and Diana

The reason people ask if my child is half-hispanic.

Looking at our matching bare feet this morning, Emmy said "Mommy! The same toes! No... brown toes and white toes."
