NEWS REPORT - Murray, Utah

News Flash -- Nickolas Slade was the closing speaker for the Bennion East Stake conference today, displaying his usual calm manner and keen verbal acuity. The congregation seemed inspired by his explanation of how his experience with the Primary program in his ward helped to prepare him for the responsibilities of the Aaronic Priesthood. Good job, Nickolas!

Just been thinking about Grandma

I don't mean to raise any alarms or anything, I just think that maybe we could pray for Grandma. If you aren't already, which I'm sure a lot of you are. She must be one of the most amazing women in our lives, and I think she could use some extra love right now. I love you Grandma! We're praying for you!

We got a new bishop and guess who it is.

My father!!!!!!! Is the new bishop of our ward. our old one has been in for a long time and now my dad is the new bishop. It was so hard this whole week for him. He said he felt like he was in a coma. So he left the country to go surpise grandma and grandpa on the cruise. Haha. So anyway that is the update.

Has this ever happened to any of you?!

I just got the craziest thing in the mail! Let's get a visual:
I got a Charred Christmas Card! It came in the little plastic baggie, along with an apology letter from the Postal Service, which said this:

Dear Postal Customer:

In the early morning hours of December 27th, 2008 a contract carrier was transporting mixed classes of mail from Oklahoma City, OK to Dallas, TX. Unfortunately, the carrier was involved in an accident and the trailer caught fire. The mail was heavily damaged by fire and water. We are thankful there was no life threatening injuries.
The United States Postal Inspection Service secured the scene and determined a portion of the mail was burned beyond recovery. We are making every effort to deliver every piece of the recovered damaged mail.
The enclosed mail piece is being sent to you in the condition it was found. Please accept our sincere apology for the damage to you mail.

IS THAT SO WEIRD? I've never heard of that before. Weird thing number two, it was from my Ward Bishopric! What the beans was it doing in Oklahoma!?

Merry Christmas from Kyiv. The talent was easy. Finding the tubes was nigh impossible. Jord missed out, since he was at basketball practice.

On the Ring Road

Here's another one from Morgy, although not quite as exciting. But we thought you might like to see how it is on the roads a little bit. It's usually pretty slow going, and a little hazardous, but we're getting used to it.

Mission Home tour part 1

Tuesday Tell All

We could do something like "what are you most thankful for" since it is Thanksgiving and all, but that might get kinda mushy. Instead, let's do:

A Lake Powell

This is our wonderful trip to Lake Powell Utah. This is overlooking our camp. It's nice here.
Jayne says I don't give enough emotion and info so... For the picture above, this is Rainbow Bridge. For the life of me I can't figure out why they call it that but they do. As you can see it's a rock, not an optical and meteorlogical phenomenon that causes a spectrem of light to appear in the sky when the sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. It's 275 ft span was carved by Mormon pioneers who where lost and forced into manual labor by hoodlums and that was sad. It is 290 ft tall and wonderful. The Indians used it as a sacred religious sight. Which indians they are not sure but its fun to think about. I would like to note that it is not an arch. Arches do not have to be formed by water running under them; a Bridge (such as the one above) does. Some years when Lake Powell is full you can boat up to the bridge.
